Pricing

What you pay. When you pay it. How it's determined.

We've written this page to answer every pricing question before you have to ask it. Read it once and you'll know exactly what to expect.

Section A

Your payment has two parts. Both are disclosed before you authorize.

Component 1 — Airfare & Carrier Charges

These are the charges that go to the airline or booking infrastructure. They are not set by Travelfirst and are not controlled by us.

Includes:

  • Base airfare (the fare for your routing and cabin class)
  • Government taxes and airport fees (set by governments and airports)
  • Carrier surcharges (fuel surcharges and other airline-imposed fees)
  • Seat selection fees — if applicable and selected; we'll note these separately
  • Baggage fees — governed by carrier policy; we'll advise you of the carrier's policy for your fare class
We do not add undisclosed markups to airfare. If airfare is marked up beyond the carrier-published fare for any reason, this will be explicitly stated in your itinerary presentation and authorization document.

Component 2 — Travelfirst Advisory Fee

This is our charge for the advisory, facilitation, and support work we perform on your behalf.

The advisory fee:

  • Is disclosed when we present your itinerary options
  • Is shown as a separate, labeled line item — never embedded in the airfare amount
  • Is confirmed again in your written authorization request
  • Is charged only after your written approval

What the advisory fee is NOT:

  • It does not cover airline change fees or cancellation penalties
  • It does not cover baggage fees or seat selection after booking
  • It does not cover any carrier-imposed charges after your ticket is issued
  • It is not refundable to you by the airline — it is a Travelfirst charge
Section B

Five factors. One fee. Always disclosed before you authorize.

Our fee is not a fixed number. It reflects the complexity of the work your specific request requires. Here are the factors that determine it:

Factor Lower fee direction Higher fee direction
Route type Domestic, direct International, multi-stop
Routing complexity Single round-trip Multi-city, open-jaw, complex connections
Number of travelers 1–2 travelers 3+ travelers, group coordination
Cabin class Economy, standard fares Business, first, premium — fare class research intensive
Timing Standard lead time Last-minute, urgent requests
We do not publish a fee schedule because a number taken out of context creates false expectations. The exact fee for your request is quoted with your itinerary options. If the fee doesn't work for you, you are not obligated to proceed.
Section C

Quote, reservation, and ticket issuance.

This distinction is critical. Please read it.

A quote is not a reservation.

When we present itinerary options, no seat has been held and no reservation exists in the booking system. The pricing and availability reflected in a quote are based on our research at the time of review. Fares and availability are subject to change until written authorization is received and payment is processed.

A reservation is not an issued ticket.

After your authorization is received and payment has been successfully processed, we submit the booking to the fulfillment channel. The operating carrier then issues your ticket. There is a processing interval between payment and ticket issuance. We send you written confirmation once ticket issuance is verified.

What this means for you:

  • Do not make non-refundable arrangements (hotels, visas, connecting bookings) based solely on a quote we've presented
  • Your booking is confirmed when you receive written ticket confirmation from Travelfirst — not when you submit your request or even when you authorize payment
Section D

We tell you before we charge you. Always.

Airfare pricing is dynamic. If the fare we quoted changes between the time we present options and the time we process your authorization, the following applies:

If the fare decreases

We process payment at the lower fare. We notify you of the difference.

If the fare increases

We notify you of the revised total before processing any payment. We will ask for your authorization of the new amount. You may approve the revised amount, request alternative options, or choose not to proceed. We will never process a higher charge than what you authorized.
